back to the seventies
Our client asked us to design a garden that would evoke memories of their grandmother’s garden — a place of warmth, familiarity, and charm. We created a contemporary reinterpretation of the 1970s garden, with lush plantings, a sculptural wooden bench, and a social atmosphere. This compact Antwerp city garden captures a sense of leisure and nostalgia.
Materials and patterns draw inspiration from the era’s distinctive aesthetic — flagstone paving, bold textures, and a palette of greens and ochres, featuring classics like Crocosmia, Euphorbia, foxglove, Yucca, and Fatsia japonica — familiar and timeless.
